Huskies Drop Season Opener to No. 12 Southern Nazarene

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State men's basketball team dropped its season opener Friday afternoon in the NSIC/MIAA/GAG Crossover tournament day one. The Huskies fell 87-52 to the No. 12 ranked Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm.
GAME SUMMARY
St. Cloud State opened with a slow start while Southern Nazarene found their moment right away. The Huskies found themselves down 19-5 six minutes into the first half. Tony Dahl was St. Cloud's leading scorer for the first half tallying 10 points going 3-4 from the three-point line. Adokiye Iyaye of the Crimson Storm lead with 17 points in the first half. After a hard-fought battle through 20 minutes, the Huskies trailed 48-25 going into the second half.
Despite scoring 27 points in the second half, the 35 point deficit was too much for the Huskies to come back from as St. Cloud State fell to No. 12 Southern Nazarene 87-52. Matthew Willert led second half scoring with 9 points going 3-4 from the three-point line while Luke Taylor went 4-4 scoring 8 points in the second tallying a total of 10 points for the game. Tony Dahl was the Huskies scoring leader putting up 14 total points.
