St. Cloud State Men's Basketball Opens 2022-23 Season in NSIC/MIAA/GAG Crossover

Huskies to take on No. 12 Southern Nazarene & Arkansas Monticello
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Cloud State men's basketball team is back in action and will open their 2022-23 season on the road taking part in the NSIC/MIAA/GAG Crossover Tournament in Kansas City, MO.

The Huskies will go up against No. 12 Southern Nazarene on Friday, November 11 and Arkansas Monticello Saturday, November 12. Friday's game is set for 11:00 a.m. CT tip-off and Saturday's game for 1:00 p.m. CT tip-off. Live stats will be available on the Central Region Challenge tournament page.

The Matchups
Friday's season opener will be the first meeting between St. Cloud State and Southern Nazarene since 2019. The Huskies fell 81-61 to the Storm back in March 2019. The Storm ended their 2021-22 season in the GAG Championship with a loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State. They ended with a 21-10 record. Southern Nazarene was selected to finish first in the GAG Coaches Poll for 2022-23 and is ranked No. 12 in the NCAA DII Coaches Poll.

Saturday's matchup will be the first meeting between St. Cloud State and Arkansas Monticello. The Weevils ended their 2021-22 season with a 10-18 record. Arkansas Monticello was selected to finish 10th in the GAG Coaches Poll for 2022-23.

NSIC Preseason Poll
The Huskies were selected to finish 13th overall in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. In the north division, the Huskies were selected fifth in a tie with Minot State.

St. Cloud State enters into its first year under the leadership of Head Coach Quincy Henderson. The Huskies bench will have a few familiar faces while also looking different from a season ago with the addition of five transfer athletes and two freshmen.

Transferred to St. Cloud State in 2022-23 from New Mexico Junior College. Started in 30 games averaging 9.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. All-Conference player in the NJCAA WJCAC.

Transferred to St. Cloud State from Bethel University in 2022-23. Appeared in 22 games averaging 20 minutes a game shooting 47% from the field and 46% from the 3-point line at Bethel.
