Huskies XC prepares for NCAA Central Region Championships

St. Cloud State travels to Joplin, Missouri for NCAA Regional race
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Cross Country continues postseason competition this Saturday with the NCAA Central Region Championships held in Joplin, Missouri at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course. The Women's 6K race is set to begin at 11:15 a.m. CT.
Live results are available through Athletic Live provided by Missouri Southern State. Admission to the race is $5 per person with children ages 12 and under receiving free admittance – tickets will be available at the Northwest or Southwest gates.
The Huskies have earned a top-25 finish at the NCAA Central Region Tournament in three straight seasons dating back to 2018. Last fall, Cheresa Bouley placed 34th at the Regional to pace St. Cloud State.
SCSU is fresh off a seventh-place finish at the NSIC Championships on November 5. Bouley led the Huskies by placing 25th with a 23:13.68 time, followed by Greta Freed (58th, 24:39.19) and Iris Guider (61st, 24:46.92) in the team's top three. Lauren Sertich (63rd, 24:48.95), Clara Welhouse (67th, 24:58.95), Cambrie Kowal (78th, 25:17.55) and Erica Conrad (82nd, 25:30.10) all placed among the top 100 finishers.
The 2022 NCAA Central Region Championships are hosted by Missouri Southern State. The top three teams at the Regional will advance to the NCAA Championship Finals in addition to 10 at-large bids from across the country. Individually, the top two racers who are not members of an advancing team will earn a berth in the NCAA Finals along with any other non-advancing team member who finishes in the top five. Another eight athletes will be selected at-large from across the country.
