ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State men's basketball team claimed their first win in the walls of Halenbeck Hall Saturday afternoon. The Huskies knocked down the Northern Michigan Wildcats 76-69. Tommy Chatman put up the Huskies first double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
GAME SUMMARY
The Huskies trailed 41-38 at the half despite a well-balanced scoring effort with both teams going back and fourth throughout the half. Joe Mutimer is the only Husky to put up double-digit scoring with 10 points in the first 20 minutes of play. Ryan Bagley played a key role in the Huskies scoring with six assists. Northern Michigan's Max Bjorklund put up 20 points in the first half for the Wildcat.
Halfway through the second half, the Huskies tied the game with 53 apiece. This sparked the Huskies offense as they were able to retake the lead while the defense managed to slow down the Wildcats by holding Northern Michigan's first half top scorer, Max Bjorklund to only eight second half points. Three Huskies ended the day scoring in the double-digits and one double-double
