QUOTABLES
St. Cloud State Women's Hockey Head Coach Steve Macdonald
"I thought we competed right to the end. We had some chances, we were able to generate some chances, but we weren't able to capitalize. They were the better team this weekend."
Reflecting on the 2021-22 season… "We saw a lot of growth. A lot of growth in individuals, but also a lot of growth as a program in terms of the beliefs and expectations of what we're capable of. We showed that in moments during the season where we were up on top-ranked teams, competing with top-ranked teams and being right there with them. That comes with belief, and the future generations will have to continue that moving forward. This program, this team learned a lot of lessons this season and grew a lot as a program. We're going to be better for the future – there's no question."
On the message to the senior class… "We shared that message with them in the locker room. They were the driving force behind some of those lessons in terms of the expectations of where we can go with the program. You can't say enough about that group – in terms of how they led, and with the class that they led with. It's going to be up to the younger generation to continue that legacy."
