2021 Huskies maintained a 3.30+ GPA for entire 2021-22 academic year
LEXINGTON, Ky. – With the season coming up, the St. Cloud State volleyball team already has something to celebrate. For the seventh straight season, the Huskies were honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for their academic success in 2021, earning the United State Marine Corps (USMC)/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 season.
"I am so proud of these young women. On the court they had a fantastic season and were even better in the classroom," said head coach Chad Braegelmann. "They are focused young women who take their academic journey and success very serious. I know they will be fantastic professionals when they leave St. Cloud State and will do great things and this award is just one more example of that."
The Huskies were one of more than 1,200 teams across the NCAA, NAIA, and NJACC to receive the honor, including 14 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) teams. In order to receive the award, teams must maintain a year-long grade-point average (GPA) of 3.30. For seven years, the Huskies have been able to achieve this honor making it the longest streak in program history since the award was created in 1992-93.
