
St. Cloud State to Host Puck Drop Breakfast on Sept. 17

Season-opening event will be held 9-10:30 a.m. CT in the Husky Den of the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's and Women's Hockey will host their annual Puck Drop Breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 17 in the Husky Den of the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center from 9-10:30 a.m. CT. The event will be hosted by Jim Erickson, the voice of the Huskies, and will feature a panel headlined by men's head coach Brett Larson and women's head coach Brian Idalski.
St. Cloud State University President Robbyn Wacker and Interim Director of Athletics Holly Schreiner will also be on-hand to make welcoming remarks for the event. SCSU Men's Hockey returns a talented corps that led the program to its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last five seasons, headlined by third-year captain Spencer Meier. Two of last season's top-four point scorers are back as Jami Krannila (15-15-30) and Zach Okabe (11-17-28) take the ice for their senior seasons. Meier and recently named alternate captain Micah Miller will be on-hand at the event for a Q&A session.
SCSU Women's Hockey will skate under the direction of Idalski in his first season at the helm in 2022-23. The Huskies return 93% of their points from last season with the talented top line of Taylor Lind, Jenniina Nylund and Emma Gentry leading the pack. Nylund and graduate student Taytum Geier will be the team's representatives at the Q&A session.
