ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 3/4 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey (16-6-0, 8-4-0 NCHC) bounced back in a big way, blanking Colorado College (10-11-1, 6-5-1 NCHC), 4-0, on Saturday night at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. Four skaters scored two points while junior goaltender Dominic Basse (Alexandria, Va.) made 27 saves to lead the Huskies to victory.
St. Cloud State retired Matt Cullen's No. 9 jersey with a pregame ceremony, as he became the second Husky to get his number hung from the rafters at the Brooks Center.
TURNING POINT
The Huskies and Tigers were locked in a defensive battle for much of the night with the Huskies finding the net only once in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period or in the first nine minutes of the third period.
Just before the midway point of the final period, the Huskies were able to break through and added a score to extend its lead. Senior forward Grant Cruikshank (Delafield, Wis.) served as the playmaker for the Huskies, as he found senior forward Kyler Kupka (Camrose, Alberta) in the high slot, who buried a shot through the five hole to make the score 2-0. Just over two minutes later it was Cruikshank's turn, as he found the back of the net for the 15th time this season off assists from senior forward Micah Miller (Grand Rapids, Minn.) and Kupka.

- First star of the game, Cruiskhank scored a goal and added an assist for his sixth multi-point game of the season.
- Kupka had a goal and assist for two points while earning the second star of the game.
- Basse recorded his third shutout of the season with 27 saves.
- With the win, St. Cloud State improves to 64-51-9 all-time against Colorado College and 24-24-6 in St. Cloud.
- The Huskies were a perfect 4-of-4 on the penalty kill and improved to 11-1-0 when its opponent fails to score on the power play.
- St. Cloud State improved to 9-2-0 at home, 13-2-0 when scoring first and 13-0-0 when leading after two periods.
- Basse logged his third shutout of the season and fourth of his career with 27 saves while improving his goals-against-average to 1.61 and his save percentage to .937.
- Cruikshank scored a goal for the third time in the last four games and for the 15th time this season, a mark which ranks third nationally. His two-point game marks the sixth time this season and the 16th time in his career he has recorded a multi-point game.
- Kupka's two points marked the fifth time this season and ninth time in his career he has recorded a multi-point game.
- Okabe logged his seventh multi-point game of the season and 20th of his career with a goal and assist while matching his season-high with a +3 mark on the ice.
- Senior forward Jami Krannila (Nokia, Finland) had two points for his eighth multi-point game of the season and 23rd of his career.
