St. Cloud State Men's Basketball Downed by Augustana

Huskies struggled on offense, only putting up 22 points in first half
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State men's basketball team was shut down by the Augustana Vikings Friday evening at Halenbeck Hall. The Huskies fell victim to a slow first half while struggling to play catch-up in the second. St. Cloud dropped 90-66 to Augustana. SCSU shot .426 from the field, every Husky that touched the floor added points to the board, with only two hitting double-digit figures.

GAME SUMMARY
St. Cloud went into the locker room at half with just 22 points on the board after shooting only .240 from the field. The Huskies took an early 6-4 lead just two minutes into the game until the game shifted to Augustana. The Vikings would go up by eight until a layup by Kevin Cook brought it back to just four point, 19-15, lead by Augustana at the 7:35 mark. From there, the Huskies were unable to slow down the Vikings as they went up by 20 to end the half 42-22 in favor of the Vikings.

During the second half, the Huskies doubled their first half score putting up 44 points shooting .586 from the field. Despite St. Cloud having better shooting in the second half, it was not enough as they struggled on defense to slow down the Vikings. The point deficit became too much for the Huskies to come back from as they fell 90-66 to Augustana.

The Huskies will host Wayne State tomorrow, Jan. 28. The game is set for a 3:30 p.m. tip-off at Halenbeck Hall.
