St. Cloud State places two runners in top 30 as SCSU enjoys strong final regular season meet
JAMESTOWN, N.D. – St. Cloud State Cross Country enjoyed a strong team effort at the Jimmie Invitational on Friday evening in Jamestown, placing sixth out of 11 as a team as two runners earned top-30 finishes and one recorded a new personal best.

Junior Cambrie Kowal (24:00.5) led the pack with a top 22 finish while senior Erica Conrad (24:15.3) joined her in the top 30 at 26th. Freshmen Alena Donahue (24:36.6) and Paige Beason (24:45.1) both earned top 40 finishes at 33rd and 36th respectively as sophomore Hannah Little (25:34.8) ran her second straight PR for a top 45 finish. Sophomore Jaileen Medina (26:42.6) landed in the top 55, dropping nearly 30 seconds off her previous meet's time.

QUOTABLES – St. Cloud State assistant coach Chris Belcher

"Today was a good chance to see a lot of teams from our conference – we're still a relatively young team, but we're really starting to come together well. We're starting to see some improvement. We'll be working a little bit over this next week, start our taper into conference and get ready for regionals after that. I think the team overall is coming together well, we're getting pretty fit and we're excited to see what this team can continue to do as we move forward."

"We saw the lineup switch up in places, and everyone just kept moving forward. They paid attention to where they were, they remained competitive throughout the race – most of the women were chasing people down at the last little bit of the race. Putting all those things together, I think we have a shot to really do some things well as a team. We're really proud of them – we're impressed with the growth and how far they've come."
