Huskies outshoot Wolverines 30-27, get shutout at Brooks Center for first time since 2016
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 17/16 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey (8-5-0, 6-0-0 NCHC) dropped a tightly contested battle with No. 14 Michigan (6-7-2, 2-4-2 B1G), 2-0, on Friday night at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Both teams were held scoreless through two periods before the Wolverines were able to break through with a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes of the game.
TJ Hughes scored the first goal of the game at the 6:40 mark of the third period when a bouncing puck found his stick in the front of the net, and he buried a shot to the back of the net for a score. Michigan added another goal late in the period when Garrett Schifsky following a Husky turnover in the defensive zone.

- Senior goaltender Dominic Basse (Alexandria, Va.) was impressive in net for the Huskies and made 25 saves.
- Redshirt sophomore forward Ryan Rosborough (Mt. Brydges, Ontario) led the Huskies with six shots on goal.
- Senior forward Joe Molenaar (Minnetonka, Minn.) and freshman forward Barrett Hall (Apple Valley, Minn.) had five and four shots on goal, respectively.
- With the loss, SCSU drops to 0-3-0 all-time against Michigan.
- The 2-0 result marked the first time the Huskies have been shutout at home since Nov. 19, 2016 when North Dakota won 3-0 at the Brooks Center.
- SCSU outshot its opponent for the ninth time in 13 games this season.
- Basse made 25 saves for the fourth time this season and 31st time in his career.
- Rosborough (six), Molenaar (five) and Hall (four) all recorded career highs in shots on goal.
