BEMIDJI, Minn. - The St. Cloud State men's basketball team dropped 99-81 to Bemidji State at the BSU Gymnasium Thursday evening. Every Husky that touched the court added points to the board with two scoring in the double-digit mark.
GAME SUMMARY
The first period ended with the Huskies entering the locker room down 51-40 after a strong offensive showing by Bemidji State. Halfway through the first, St. Cloud went on a 7-2 run to tie the game up at 20 after Ryan Bagley sank a three. From there, the Beavers would pull away increasing the point margin into the double digits. SCSU shot a solid .500 from the field but BSU just couldn't miss as they shot .704 from the field and an impressive .769 (10-13) from the three-point line.
During the second half, the Huskies just could not close the point margin as the Beavers held a double-digit lead the entire half. Despite shooting above .500 for the second half, the point deficit was just too much to overcome. Bemidji State's shooting took a drop in the second as they shot .517 from the field but still shot .500 from the three-point line.
TOP HUSKIES
The Huskies will return to Halenbeck Hall hosting Minnesota Crookston to close the regular season. The game is set for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.
PLAYOFF PICTURE
With the loss tonight, the Huskies will have to win against Minnesota Crookston on Saturday and UMary will have to lose against MSU Moorhead for SCSU to take over the sixth seed. If the Huskies lose and/or a UMary win, the Marauders hold the tiebreaker earning them the sixth spot and SCSU will miss the playoffs.
