Six Husky Swimmers and Divers earn All-American Status at the NCAA Championships
Indianapolis, IN – The St. Cloud State Swim & Dive team had an impressive showing at the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships from March 7-11 in Indianapolis, I.N. The Huskies had six of their athletes earn All-American status and four school records were broken over the course of the meet.
Three Huskies earned individual All-American honors. Senior Abe Townley finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, while also earning a new school record. Junior Raf Hendriks finished seventh in the 200-yard backstroke. Senior Meredith Matchinsky finished fifth in 3-meter diving. Along with individual All-Americans, the Huskies had 2 relays earn All-American status. The 200 Medley relay of Hendriks, Senior Jayden Porter, Junior Emile Dost, and Townley finished sixth, while the 200-freestyle relay of Townley, Hendriks, Dost, and Freshman Mason Beck placed seventh.

To finish the meet, the Husky men finished in 13th-place with 106 points, while the Husky women finished in 29th-place with 14 points.

Townley finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 19.34, a new school record. Townley also placed 24th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.28, which earned him the school record.

Hendriks earned All-American status in the 200-yard backstroke, placing seventh with a time of 1:45.38. During the meet, Hendriks also earned a new school record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:36.85.

Senior Meredith Matchinsky earned All-American status in 3-meter diving, placing fifth with a score of 443.95.

The 200-medley relay team of Hendriks, Senior Jayden Porter, Junior Emile Dost, and Townley finished sixth, with a new school record time of 1:26.74.
