
No. 6 St. Cloud State Wrestling Records Eight Bonus Point Victories in 49-0 Win over Sioux Falls

SCSU records largest margin of victory over conference opponent since 2016
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – No. 6 St. Cloud State Wrestling (8-1, 3-0 NSIC) recorded eight bonus point victories and won all 10 matches in a 49-0 win over Sioux Falls (1-5, 0-3 NSIC) on Saturday afternoon at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls. The Huskies recorded four falls, three technical falls and a major decision in the victory to improve to 3-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches.
The Saturday bout was the first-ever match between the two programs as this is Sioux Falls' first season of competition. The 49-0 win was the most points scored in a dual since the Huskies beat American International, 54-0 on Nov. 9, 2019 and the most in a conference dual since a 50-0 win over Minot State on Jan. 29, 2016.
Redshirt senior 133-pounder Caleb Meekins (Livonia, Mich.) started the bonus point exhibition for the Huskies, earning a first period fall over Beau Klingensmith at 2:18. It was the first of four pins for Huskies, as Meekins was joined by redshirt junior 149-pounder Colby Njos (Anoka, Minn.), redshirt sophomore 174-pounder Bryce Dagel and heavyweight Elijah Novak (Foley, Minn.). Dagel and Novak both earned first period falls while Njos recorded his in the second period.
Junior 157-pounder Nick Novak (New Prague, Minn.) remained perfect on the season with a 16-1 technical fall over John Tyler, while graduate 157-pounder Anthony Herrera (Stansbury Park, Utah) and redshirt senior 197-pounder Dominic Murphy (Evergreen Park, Ill.) also recorded technical falls by score of 17-1 and 16-0, respectively. Redshirt sophomore 141-pounder Alyeus Craig (Wichita, Kan.) posted a major decision victory in his bout at 141 points, winning 18-6 over Beau Beavers.
Redshirt sophomore 125-pounder Conor Knopick (Omaha, Neb.) and redshirt sophomore 184-pounder Tyson Meyer (Glenwood, Minn.) earned decision victories at 125 and 184 pounds, respectively.
