With an opportunity to win the game, Dahl would collapse the defense with a drive as he dished it out to an open Luke Winkel who was unable to connect on a buzzer beating three as the game would head into overtime. The overtime period saw the Huskies take an 83-82 lead with 2:44 remaining as Winkel cashed a huge three. Crookston would get the bucket right back, but Wyatt Hawks gave the Huskies the lead again with a layup. SCSU would come up clutch at the free throw line late in overtime went two for two at the stripe with 1:21 remaining to give the Huskies a three-point lead. After forcing a stop, Winkel knocked down two free throws and after forcing another stop, would knock down two more to give the Huskies a 91-84 lead in overtime.
