
Anhorn Signs with Manitoba Moose of AHL

Anhorn earned back-to-back All-NCHC honors in two seasons with Huskies
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Hockey fifth-year defenseman Dylan Anhorn (Calgary, Alberta) signed a one-year contract for the 2024-25 season with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League (AHL). Anhorn will join the team for the remainder of the 2023-24 season on an amateur tryout agreement.
Anhorn joined the Huskies ahead of the 2022-23 season where he earned All-NCHC Honorable Mention honors before earning first team honors this season. He became the fifth SCSU blue liner to earn first team All-NCHC honors after producing career highs in assists (27) and points (33) while recording six goals and two game-winning goals in 2023-24. The Hobey Baker Award nominee led the Huskies in assists (27) and plus/minus (+14) while his 27 assists and 33 points both rank second among NCHC blue liners and 10th nationally. Anhorn was twice named the NCHC Defensemen of the Week this season, earning the nod following a two-point performance in SCSU's season-opening series over St. Thomas (Oct. 7-8) and after scoring both game-winning goals in the Huskies' sweep over Miami (Feb. 9-10).
In his first season in with the Huskies (2022-23), Anhorn was nothing short of spectacular before suffering a season-ending injury on Jan. 21, 2023. The Calgary, Alberta native led all NCAA blue liners with 25 points (five goals / 20 assists) at the time of his injury and produced a +15 mark on the ice. He played a key role on special teams for SCSU, quarterbacking the top power play unit and adding key minutes on the penalty kill unit. His 12 points on the power play (one goal / 11 assists) still rank third on the team. Despite missing the final 11 games of the regular season, Anhorn still ranked among the team's leaders in numerous statistical categories, including second in assists (20), third in plus/minus (+15) and fifth in points (25).
Prior to his time at SCSU, Anhorn spent three years and played two seasons at Union where he earned ECAC All-Rookie Team honors in 2019-20. In junior hockey, Anhorn played two season with the Prince George Spruce Kings (BCHL), helping them team capture their first-ever Fred Page Cup and Doyle Cup titles in 2019.
For his career, Anhorn finished with 24 goals and 70 assists for 94 points with five power play goals, three game-winning goals and a +36 mark on the ice. His 47 assists with SCSU rank 15th among Husky defensemen all-time while his 58 points rank 18th.
