St. Cloud State wins six matches in 18-12 win
St. Cloud, Minn.- No. 1 St. Cloud State Wrestling (11-0, 6-0 NSIC) stayed unbeaten on the year as they defeated No. 2 Wisconsin-Parkside 18-12 Friday evening. The dual kicked off at 125 where Conor Knopick wrestled against No. 12 Shane Corrigan. The match would head into overtime after Knopick scored a riding time point and Corrigan tallied an escape. In overtime, Knopick blocked a shot attempt by Corrigan and maintained positioning as he maneuvered his way to the edge of the mat. Knopick overpowered Corrigan to be on his back and then worked his way to complete the takedown for the 4-1 sudden victory win. The Rangers would respond with victories at 133 and 141 as they now held a 6-3 lead. Moving to 149, No. 13 Colby Njos wrestled against No. 11 Easton Worachek. Neither wrestler scored a point in the opening period. Njos would come away with an escape in the second period to lead 1-0 as that score held going into period three. Njos chose the top position to start the period and had an incredible ride that lasted one minute and 56 seconds. Worachek escaped with four seconds remaining, but it would not matter as Colby Njos won 2-1 off an outstanding ride. No. 1 Joel Jesuroga, No. 3 Nick Novak, and No. 2 Bryce Dagel kept it rolling for the Huskies with three decision victories as the Huskies would now lead 15-6.
