St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Hits the Road for MSUM and Minnesota Crookston

Huskies will play at MSUM on Friday and UMC on Sunday
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (8-1-4, 6-1-3 NSIC) hits the road for its next two conference matchups, heading to MSU Moorhead (3-9-1, 2-8-0 NSIC) and Minnesota Crookston (1-10-2, 0-9-1 NSIC). The Huskies being the weekend in Moorhead against the Dragons on Friday, Oct. 24 at 3:00 p.m. CT before finishing its road trip on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1:00 p.m. CT against the Golden Eagles.

SERIES HISTORY
SCSU's unbeaten record against both schools will be on the line this weekend, as the Huskies are 30-0-2 all-time against MSU Moorhead and 21-0-1 all-time against Minnesota Crookston.
Against MSUM, the Huskies have won its last four meetings, including a 4-0 win last season in St. Cloud on Oct. 18, 2024 where senior forward Ellie Primerano (Saint Joseph, Mich.), junior midfielder Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa), sophomore forward Gabby Hofeld (St. Paul, Minn.) and junior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) all found the back of the net.
The Huskies have won the last six games against Minnesota Crookston, outscoring the Golden Eagles 19-2 with five shutouts in the process. SCSU beat UMC 4-0 on Nov. 7 last season with current Huskies junior forward Zoey Fanter (Norwalk, Iowa), sophomore forward Delaney Weier (Madison, Wis.) and junior midfielder Cady Compton (Ankeny, Iowa) all scoring.
PLAYOFF RACE HEATING UP
With three weeks of regular season action remaining, the race for positioning in the NSIC standings is heating up. St. Cloud State is currently in a tie for third place with Bemidji State (6-1-3 in NSIC) at 21 points. Minnesota State is in first place with 28 points (9-0-1 NSIC) while Augustana is in second place with 22 points (7-2-1 NSIC).
In the eight-team NSIC Tournament, the top four seeds will host the quarterfinal round matchups, with the winners advancing to the semifinal and championship rounds. 25-POINT CLUB ADDITIONS
For the first time in program history, St. Cloud State Women's Soccer has four current student athletes with 25 career points. Two Huskies, senior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) and junior midfielder Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa), reached the 25-point club this season, joining senior Ellie Primerano (Saint Joseph, Mich.) and junior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) who reached the milestone last season.
Quam reached 25 points in SCSU's 1-0 win over Michigan Tech on Sept. 7 and then recorded three assists in a 5-0 win over UW-Parkside on Sept. 12 to match a career-high for assists in a game. She is just the second Husky in program history to have multiple games with three or more assists, joining Kim Corbin who did it four times. Quam currently leads the NSIC in assists with five. Her 19 career assists rank third all-time while her 31 career points rank 18th.
Olson is the latest to join the 25-point club with an assist in a 2-1 win over Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 12, becoming the 25th Husky in program history to reach the mark. Olson has scored 2+ goals and 2+ assists in each of her three seasons as a Husky, including an eight-point (2g/4a) performance so far this season.
Primerano and Trapino continue to work their way up the all-time scoring list for the Huskies. Primerano currently ranks eighth with 46 points (15g/16a) while Trapino ranks 10th with 43 points (17g/9a).
BALANCED ATTACK
The race for team point-lead this season is a tight race, with junior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) taking a slight lead at 13 points while senior forward Ellie Primerano (Saint Joseph, Mich.) and junior midfielder Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa) and are close behind at 10 and eight points, respectively. Trapino and Primerano rank in the NSIC's top-20 in scoring, with Trapino's five goals ranking ninthin the NSIC. Additionally, senior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) leads the NSIC in assists with five while Olson ranks third with four.
As a team the Huskies ranking in the top five of the NSIC in most statistical categories as a team, including second in goals against average (0.54), second in save percentage (.863), second in assists (23), sixth in points (63) and eighth in goals (20).
STRICKLAND STRICT IN NET
Redshirt sophomore Jaylee Strickland (Columbus, Ohio) has been elite in net for the Huskies this season as she continues to build on an impressive campaign that will be remembered in the record book. The 2023 All-NSIC second team selection has produced an 8-1-4 mark in net with a 0.55 GAA, .860 S% and seven shutouts while earning her first career NSIC Goalkeeper of the Year honor on Oct. 6.
Among NSIC leaders this season, Strickland ranks second in GAA (0.55) and shutouts (seven) while ranking third in S% (.860). Among program records for a single season, Stickland's marks currently rank first in GAA, third in S% and fifth in shutouts. Among career records, she already ranks third in wins (21) and third in shutouts (15).
