Olson Scores Twice in St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer’s 4-1 win over MSU Moorhead

Huskies improve to 5-0-3 on the road this season with fifth consecutive win over Dragons
MOORHEAD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (9-1-4, 7-1-3 NSIC) scored four goals to race past MSU Moorhead (3-10-1, 2-9-0 NSIC), 4-1, on Friday afternoon at Nemzek Soccer Field in Moorhead, Minn. Junior midfielder Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa) netted two goals to lead the way offensively for the Huskies.
TURNING POINT
The Huskies scored nine minutes into the game when senior Ellie Primerano's (Saint Joseph, Mich.) shot was blocked but not cleared, and senior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) was there to clean up the rebound and find the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Olson scored her first of two goals in the 22nd minute when she intercepted a Dragon pass about 15 yards from midfield and sent it in from way out, beating the goalkeeper for the score.
In the second half, MSUM cut into the Huskies lead with a goal in the 66th minute, but SCSU was able to respond with a goal just 19 second later when sophomore midfielder Jordan Kardelis (Muskego, Wis.) sent home a pass from Primerano to the middle of the box to push the Huskies lead back to two.
Olson sealed the win for the Huskies when she converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute.

- Primerano recorded her third assist of the season on Kardelis' goal.
