Huskies’ trio of Allen, Halunen and Trapino named to First Team
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer had four student-athletes named to all-conference teams in the end-of-season Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) awards, as announced by the league on Wednesday. A trio of Huskies, junior midfielder Darby Allen (Minnetonka, Minn.), junior defender Izzy Halunen (Woodbury, Minn.) and senior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) were named to the first team while freshman defender Kelly Sprague (Edina, Minn.) was named to the second team.
Allen earns her second career all-conference honor and first, first team selection after being named to the second team in 2025. She became SCSU's key distributor this season, logging eight assists and one goal for 10 points with 14 shots on goal while playing in and starting all 19 games. She finished the season leading the NSIC and currently ranks 23rd nationally in assists, while her eight helpers are tied for the eighth-most in a single season in program history. During her junior campaign, she became the 26th player in program history to join the 25-point club, checking in at 25th with 25 career points (8g/9a).
Halunen was named to the first team for the first time in her career and earned all-conference honors for the third consecutive season after being named to the second team in 2024 and 2025. She was a mainstay on the backline for the Huskies once again, starting 13 games and playing in 14 while average 80.2 minutes per game and playing a full slate in 11 of 14 games before her season ended early due to injury. She scored twice and recorded two assists for six points while helping the Huskies record six shutouts.
Trapino becomes the fourth player in program history to earn four all-conference honors, joining Mary Morhardt (2009-12), Mackenzie Winters (2014-17) and Ellie Primerano (2022-25). Her first team honor is her first after earning second team honors each of the previous three seasons. The Husky senior had a banner season offensively, scoring 11 goals and four assists for 26 points with three game-winning goals. She led the team in goals (11), points (26) and shots on goal (38) while ranking in the NSIC's top-five in each of those categories. Trapino had a generational run of goal scoring, netting six goals in five games between Sept. 27 and Oct. 11, becoming the first Husky player to score in five consecutive games since Alexander Pafko did so from Sept. 26 – Oct. 10, 2009 (seven goals). She also set a new program record with her game-winning score against Concordia-St. Paul on Oct. 11, as her 12th game-winning goal surpassed Pafko's 11 from 2008-10. Among program career marks, Trapino ranks in the top-10 in career goals (31 – second), assists (16 – fifth), points (78 – second) and game-winning goals (13 – first). Her 11 goals this season rank fifth all-time among single season records, while her 1.37 points per game (11g/4gp) rank ninth and her 26 points rank sixth.
Sprague earned her first career all-conference honor in her freshman campaign, scoring one goal for two points in 18 games. She made 15 starts for the Huskies, averaged 78.1 minutes per game on the pitch, played a full slate in nine games and helped the Huskies post seven shutouts.
