Huskies will host an NSIC Quarterfinals match for third consecutive season
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (13-1-4, 11-1-3 NSIC) is set to host Augustana (11-4-3, 9-4-2 NSIC) for the quarterfinals round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament on Monday at 1:00 p.m. CT at CSB Soccer Field in St. Joseph, Minn. The Huskies will host the first round of the NSIC Tournament for third consecutive season dating back to 2023.

SERIES HISTORY
SCSU heads into the postseason matchup with the Vikings with an even 12-12-6 mark after evening the all-time series with a 2-1 win last Sunday (Nov. 2). Junior midfielder Darby Allen (Minnetonka, Minn.) played hero for the Huskies, scoring two second-half goals to lift the Huskies to victory. The Huskies are just 2-9-2 in its last 13 games against Augustana, including a 2-1 setback on Nov. 10, 2021, in an NSIC Quarterfinals match in Sioux Falls.
ANOTHER CAMPAIGN FOR THE RECORD BOOK
SCSU is tracking towards their third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth after reaching the national tournament for the first two times in program history in each of the last two seasons. This season, SCSU has already produced numerous program records, including its best start in program history with a nine-game unbeaten streak and most shutouts at 10.
SCSU closed the regular season with its program-record 11th win in conference play, surpassing its previous best marks of 10 wins in 2019 and 2023. The win was its 13th overall, marking the second-most in a single season, matching its 1995 total and one off its program record 14 wins in 2023.
UPSET MINDED HUSKIES
SCSU earned its statement win of the season to-date in the regular season finale, upending and handing No. 2 Minnesota State its first loss of the season in a 1-0 victory on Nov. 6 in Mankato. With the win, SCSU improved to 9-27-4 all-time against the Mavericks and snapped a five-game winless streak against Minnesota State. The win snapped a 36-game unbeaten streak in home conference games for the Mavericks, with its last loss coming on Nov. 8, 2019, a 1-0 setback to Concordia-St. Paul.
PLAYOFF PICTURE
The NSIC Tournament is here and for the third consecutive season, SCSU will host at least the NSIC Quarterfinals round as the No. 3 seed in the tournament with a 11-1-3 mark and 13-2-3 overall record. The Huskies finished tied for second with Bemidji State (13-2-3, 11-1-3 NSIC) but Bemidji State owned the tiebreaker with a 2-1 win over the Huskies on Oct. 10. Minnesota State won the NSIC regular season championship with a 13-1-1 record in NSIC play and a 15-1-2 record overall and will host the NSIC semifinals and championship game with a quarterfinals win on Monday.
Minot State (9-5-4, 9-2-4 NSIC) is the No. 4 seed, followed by Concordia-St. Paul (12-3-3, 9-3-3 NSIC), Augustana (11-4-3, 9-4-2 NSIC), Northern State (6-8-4, 6-5-4 NSIC) and UMary (8-6-4, 6-5-4 NSIC).
SCSU checked in at No. 6 in the second set of the NCAA Women's Soccer Regional Rankings. The Huskies were one of five NSIC teams ranked, joining Minnesota State (No. 1), Bemidji State (No. 5), Concordia-St. Paul (No. 8) and Augustana (No. 9) in the second of three regional rankings.
MACDONALD GETS 100
Head coach Gretta Macdonald reached a career milestone when she earned her 100th career victory in a 4-1 win over Wayne State on Oct. 31. In her 12th season as head coach (no season in 2020 due to pandemic), Macdonald is already the program's longest tenured and winningest coach at 102-80-35 (.572). She helped the Huskies capture its first-ever conference championship in 2023 when the team won the NSIC Regular Season championship, and she has led the program to its first two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2023 and 2024. Her teams have 10 program records, including most victories (14, 2023), best winning percentage (.714, 2023), most conference wins (10, 2023) most shutouts (10, 2025), and fewest goals allowed (15, 2024).
25-POINT CLUB ADDITIONS
For the first time in program history, St. Cloud State Women's Soccer has four current student athletes with 25 career points. Two Huskies, senior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) and junior midfielder Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa), reached the 25-point club this season, joining senior Ellie Primerano (Saint Joseph, Mich.) and junior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) who reached the milestone last season.
Quam reached 25 points in SCSU's 1-0 win over Michigan Tech on Sept. 7 and then recorded three assists in a 5-0 win over UW-Parkside on Sept. 12 to match a career-high for assists in a game. She is just the second Husky in program history to have multiple games with three or more assists, joining Kim Corbin who did it four times. Quam currently leads the NSIC in assists with seven. Her 21 career assists rank second all-time while her 35 career points rank 14th.
Olson is the latest to join the 25-point club with an assist in a 2-1 win over Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 12, becoming the 25th Husky in program history to reach the mark. Olson has scored 2+ goals and 2+ assists in each of her three seasons as a Husky, including a 12-point (4g/4a) performance so far this season.
Primerano and Trapino continue to work their way up the all-time scoring list for the Huskies. Primerano currently ranks sixth with 52 points (17g/18a) while Trapino ranks ninth with 46 points (18g/10a).
STRICKLAND STRICT IN NET
Redshirt sophomore Jaylee Strickland (Columbus, Ohio) has been elite in net for the Huskies this season as she continues to build on an impressive campaign that will be remembered in the record book. The 2023 All-NSIC second team selection has produced an 13-1-4 mark in net with a 0.56 GAA, .841 S% and nine shutouts while earning her first career NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week honor on Oct. 6.
Among NSIC leaders this season, Strickland ranks second in shutouts (nine), third in GAA (0.56) and third in S% (.841). Among program records for a single season, Strickland's marks currently rank first in GAA, first in shutouts and fifth in S%. Among career records, she already ranks second in wins (26) and first in shutouts (17).
BALANCED ATTACK
The race for team point-lead this season is a tight race, with junior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) and senior forward Ellie Primerano (Saint Joseph, Mich.) tied at 16 points. Junior midfielder Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa) and senior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) have also reach double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Quam leads the NSIC in assists with seven while Primerano and Trapino's six goals both rank in the top-10.
As a team the Huskies ranking in the top six of the NSIC in most statistical categories as a team, including second in assists (30), second in goals against average (0.56), third in save percentage (.844), sixth in points (94) and sixth in goals (32).
