
No. 1 Huskies Repeat as NSIC Champions Following 48-0 Rout over RV Minot State

St. Cloud State amasses five pins for 18th NSIC Title
St. Cloud, Minn.- No. 1 St. Cloud State Wrestling (13-0, 8-0 NSIC) repeated as NSIC Champions Friday evening as they defeated RV Minot State 48-0. In what was a blazing fast start to the dual, St. Cloud State jumped out to a 12-0 lead following pins by Conor Knopick and No. 8 Sam Spencer. Knopick came away with the fall in 37 seconds while Spencer was on the merge of a tech fall, but ultimately worked his way to a pin late in his match. The fireworks continued for the Huskies as No. 13 Alyeus Craig came away with a 12-1 major decision and was followed by back-to-back pins by No. 13 Colby Njos and No. 1Joel Jesuroga. St. Cloud State held a 28-0 lead at the break following Jesuorga's pin which came in 1:33. Out of the break, No. 3 Nick Novak kept it rolling as he came away with a 15-0 tech fall. At 174, Ethan Hendrickson used a first period takedown to propel to a 5-2 decision in his conference opener. No. 9 Bryce FitzPatrick added another six points to the scoreboard with a pin in 48 seconds as SCSU led 42-0. No. 2 Dominic Murphy tacked on three more points with a 10-3 decision to stay undefeated. At 285, No.5 La'Ron Parks matched up against No. 9 Jake Swirple. No scoring occurred in the first period, but Parks took a 1-0 lead in the second period with an escape point. Neither wrestler could find their offense as Swirple tied the match at 1-1 in the third period following an escape. With 1:00 remaining in the match, Parks picked up what was the winning point as Swirple was called for his second stall. Parks continued to shutout Swirple's offense as he completed the sweep with a 2-1 win. In what was their final home dual of the season, the Huskies put on a show with a 48-0 win over RV Minot State.

- No. 1 Joel Jesuroga remains unbeaten on the year with a 18-0 record and a 13-0 dual record with a 8-0 mark in conference. This was his ninth bonus point win and first win by fall.
- No. 3 Nick Novak moved to 18-3 on the year with a 10-2 dual record and a perfect 8-0 NSIC record. He captured his 10th bonus point win and sixth tech fall.
- Ethan Hendrickson made his dual debut this season and picked up his fifth win of the year. He sits at 5-2.
- No. 9 Bryce FitzPatrick now sits at 14-6 on the year with a 7-3 dual record and 4-2 conference record. This was his third win by fall and eighth overall bonus point win.
- No. 2 Dominic Murphy remains unbeaten on the year with a 20-0 record. He is 13-0 in duals and 8-0 against the NSIC.
- No. 5 La'Ron Parks moved to 17-3 on the year with a 6-3 dual record and a 4-1 conference record.
