
Godard Earns Team Record at Day Two of GLIAC Championships

Godard breaks 100-yard Butterfly record, Hendriks finishes second in 200-yard freestyle and Huskies’ 400-yard medley relay gets third.
HOLLAND, MICH. – The St. Cloud State Men's Swim & Dive finished had three top-three performances and three new school records on the second day of competition at the 2024 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Thursday February 20 in Holland Mich. Junior Lance Godard picked up a new school record in the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 47.26, while also finishing second overall. Senior Raf Hendriks finished second in the 200-yard freestyle, and the Huskies 400-medley relay finished third to end the finals session.

After the second day of competition, the Huskies sit in fourth with 248 points, behind Grand Valley State (391.5 points), Wayne State (332 points), and Northern Michigan (320.5 points).

Graduate Student Raf Hendriks placed second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:37.17)

Sophomore Jimmy Nord finished fourth in 3-meter diving with 442.25 points

The Huskies relay squad of Hendriks, Sophomore Marcus Walker, Godard, and Junior Mason Beck, clocked a time of 3:11.69 to finish third and capture the school record. Hendriks also lowered the 100-yard backstroke school record with a lead-off split of 47.12

GLIAC Championships continues tomorrow for day three of the meet. The preliminary session is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. CT and the finals session at 4:30 p.m. CT.
