St. Cloud, Minn.- No. 1 St. Cloud State Wrestling begin postseason play this Saturday on March 1 with Super Region V Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D. Session I is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

For the fifth consecutive National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) poll, the Huskies were tabbed the No. 1 ranked team in Division II. St. Cloud State accumulated 96.5 points to rank first. They were followed by Nebraska-Kearney (70.0), Wisconsin-Parkside (68.0), Central Oklahoma (66.5) and Glenville State (61.0) to round out the top 5.
St. Cloud State holds nine ranked wrestlers which is the most in Division II.

All-Conference Huskies
This past Tuesday, eight Huskies were honored with All-Conference Honors as announced by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference league office (NSIC). Colby Njos, Joel Jesuroga, Nick Novak, Bryce Dagel, and Dominic Murphy were named to the First Team All-NSIC while Conor Knopick, Sam Spencer, and La'Ron Parks were named to the Second Team All-NSIC. This was the third All-Conference nod for Novak and Murphy, the second for Njos and Spencer, and the first for Jesuroga, Dagel, Knopick, and Parks.

Conference Kings
Following their final home dual of the season against Minot State, St. Cloud State captured their 18th NSIC Championship after repeating as Conference Champions. The Huskies have won 13 of the past 14 NSIC Titles with all 13 coming under Head Coach Steve Costanzo.

Super Region History
Heading into Super Region V, St. Cloud State will be eyeing their 12th overall Region Title. The Huskies have won eight consecutive Super Region V Championships and extended that streak a season ago.

The Huskies got off to a strong start as eight wrestlers advanced to the semifinals including 125-pound Conor Knopick, 141-pound Alyeus Craig, 149-pound Colby Njos, 157-pound Nick Novak, 165-pound Anthony Herrera, 174-pound Cole Glazier, 184-pound Bryce FitzPatrick, and 197-pound Dominic Murphy. Njos, Novak, Herrera, and Murphy all advanced to the finals in their respective weight classes while Knopick, Craig, Glazier, and Fitzpatrick suffered defeats and had to win two matches to qualify for the NCAA Championship. All four were able to earn victories in the consolation semifinals and advance to the third-place match. After losing his first match in the quarterfinals, 133-pound Caleb Meekins battled his way back and also reached the third-place match.
In the placement round of the tournament, Knopick got the Huskies started with a 10-3 decision victory to take third place and qualify for the NCAA Championship. Meekins followed up Knopick by qualifying for the NCAA Championship for the second consecutive season as he captured a 10-4 decision victory to also take third place. Craig fell in his third-place match by a score of 4-7 as he finished fourth. In the championship round, Njos gave the Huskies their first trophy of the day as he beat Cael Larson to become the 149-pound Super Region V Champion. Novak was awarded the 157-pound championship by injury default as Devin Bahr was unable to compete. Herrera suffered a 2-4 loss in the 165-pound championship round but has qualified for the NCAA Championship in three consecutive seasons. In the 174-pound third-place match, Glazier beat Max Bruss 9-5 to qualify for the NCAA Championship. Fitzpatrick followed Glazier with a 6-0 victory in the 184-pound third-place match to punch his ticket to the NCAA Championship. In the final match of the day for St. Cloud State, Murphy took down Caden Steffen by a score of 8-2 to repeat as the 197-pound Super Region V Champion.
As a team, the Huskies took first place in the tournament with a score of 142 points and were followed up by Wisconsin-Parkside who finished second with 123 points and Augustana who finished third with 118.5 points.

At 125 pounds, No. 12 Conor Knopick will be representing the Huskies. Knopick qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season following a third-place finish in Minot, N.D last year.

The field consists of three ranked wrestlers with Knopick being the second highest ranked wrestler. Jaxson Rohman of Augustana is No. 3 at 125 while Shane Corrigan of Wisconsin-Parkside is No. 13. Knopick is 8-0 against region opponents in duals including a 4-1 SV against Corrigan. He has not wrestled Rohman this season.

No. 9 Sam Spencer will be competing for the Huskies at 133 in Sioux Falls, S.D. This will be Spencer's first time competing in a Super Region Tournament in his career.

The field at 133 consists of three other ranked wrestlers including No. 1 Reece Barnhardt of UMary, No. 3 Matt Chi of Wisconsin-Parkside, and No. 11 Beau Klingensmith of Sioux Falls. Spencer is 6-1 in region duals. He has not wrestled Barnhardt nor Klingensmith and was defeated 8-5 against Chi earlier in the season.

Alyeus Craig will be wrestling at 141 for the Huskies. Craig has finished fourth in each of the two previous Super Region Tournaments.

141 holds three ranked wrestlers in No. 1 Cayden Henschel of Wisconsin-Parkside, No. 3 Sean Solis of UMary, and No. 14 Braydon Mogle of Northern State. Craig lost 5-1 against Henschel, 4-1 against Solis, and 5-0 against Mogle. He is 5-3 in region duals this season.

No. 2 Colby Njos will be looking to defend his Super Region V Title from a season ago at 149. Njos is a two-time NCAA qualifier with a third-place finish at Super Region V in 2021.

There are five other ranked wrestlers at 149 including No. 4 Wyatt Turnquist of Northern State, No. 5 Cael Larson of Augustana, No. 9 Ethan Doty of Upper Iowa, No. 11 Easton Worachek of Wisconsin-Parkside, and No. 14 Walker Bents of Minnesota State. Njos went 9-0 in region duals including a 1-0 win against Turnquist, a 4-3 win over Larson, a 2-1 win against Worachek, and a 1-0 win against Bents. He has not wrestled against Doty.

No. 1 Joel Jesuroga will be making his Super Region debut as the top-ranked wrestler in the region.

At 157, there are two other ranked wrestlers in No. 9 Ben Durocher of Wisconsin-Parkside and No. 15 Caleb Meunier. Jesuroga beat Durocher 5-1 and Meunier 4-1 in sudden victory. He is 9-0 in region duals this season.

No. 5 Nick Novak will be looking for a fourpeat as Super Region Champion but will be doing so at 165 as opposed to 157.

At 165, Novak is the top ranked wrestler with two other wrestlers present including No. 7 Dajuon Johnson of Wisconsin-Parkside and No. 15 Leo Mushinsky of UMary. Novak beat Johnson 8-1 and then defeated Mushinsky 6-3. He is 9-0 in region duals this season.

No. 4 Bryce Dagel will be making his Super Region debut at 174.

Dagle comes in as the top-ranked wrestler in the region with two other ranked wrestlers present in No. 8 Lawson Losee of Upper Iowa and No. 15 Drake Hayward of Minnesota State. Dagle has not wrestled either wrestler this season but is 8-0 in region duals.

No. 11 Bryce FitzPatrick eyes his second consecutive NCAA qualification after a third-place finish last season.

The 184-pound class features three other ranked wrestlers in No. 3 Reece Worachek of Wisconsin-Parkside, No. 8 Cade Mueller of Augustana, and No. 9 Colter Bye of Upper Iowa. FitzPatrick was defeated 8-6 against Worachek and 3-0 against Mueller. He has not wrestled Bye this season. FitzPatrick is 5-2 in region duals this season.

No. 1 Dominic Murphy eyes a threepeat at 197 after capturing titles each of the past two seasons.

Two other ranked wrestlers are present at 197 including No. 4 Max Ramberg of Augustana and No. 15 Geoff Freeman of Upper Iowa. Murphy defeated Ramberg 8-4 earlier this season and has not wrested Freeman this year. Murphy is 9-0 in region duals this season.

No. 5 La'Ron Parks will be making his Super Region V debut after previously wrestling in Super Region III. During his time at Notre Dame College, Parks was a three-time NCAA qualifier with three third place finishes at Super Region III.

Parks is the top ranked wrestler in the region and is in a field with five other ranked wrestlers in No. 7 Lloyd Reynolds of Wisconsin-Parkside, No. 8 Jake Swirple of Minot State, No. 9 Luke Tweeton of UMary, No. 13 Nathan Schauer of Northern State, and No. 14 Joshua Gaye of Upper Iowa. Parks lost to Reynolds 2-1 in SV, but defeated Swirple 2-1 and Tweeton 4-1. He has not wrestled Schauer or Gaye this year. Parks is 5-1 in region duals this season.

No. 9 Sam Spencer will be competing for the Huskies at 133 in Sioux Falls, S.D. This will be Spencer's first time competing in a Super Region Tournament in his career.

The field at 133 consists of three other ranked wrestlers including No. 1 Reece Barnhardt of UMary, No. 3 Matt Chi of Wisconsin-Parkside, and No. 11 Beau Klingensmith of Sioux Falls. Spencer is 6-1 in region duals. He has not wrestled Barnhardt nor Klingensmith and was defeated 8-5 against Chi earlier in the season.

Alyeus Craig will be wrestling at 141 for the Huskies. Craig has finished fourth in each of the two previous Super Region Tournaments.

No. 2 Colby Njos will be looking to defend his Super Region V Title from a season ago at 149. Njos is a two-time NCAA qualifier with a third-place finish at Super Region V in 2021.

There are five other ranked wrestlers at 149 including No. 4 Wyatt Turnquist of Northern State, No. 5 Cael Larson of Augustana, No. 9 Ethan Doty of Upper Iowa, No. 11 Easton Worachek of Wisconsin-Parkside, and No. 14 Walker Bents of Minnesota State. Njos went 9-0 in region duals including a 1-0 win against Turnquist, a 4-3 win over Larson, a 2-1 win against Worachek, and a 1-0 win against Bents. He has not wrestled against Doty.

No. 1 Joel Jesuroga will be making his Super Region debut as the top-ranked wrestler in the region.

At 157, there are two other ranked wrestlers in No. 9 Ben Durocher of Wisconsin-Parkside and No. 15 Caleb Meunier. Jesuroga beat Durocher 5-1 and Meunier 4-1 in sudden victory. He is 9-0 in region duals this season.

No. 5 Nick Novak will be looking for a fourpeat as Super Region Champion but will be doing so at 165 as opposed to 157.

At 165, Novak is the top ranked wrestler with two other wrestlers present including No. 7 Dajuon Johnson of Wisconsin-Parkside and No. 15 Leo Mushinsky of UMary. Novak beat Johnson 8-1 and then defeated Mushinsky 6-3. He is 9-0 in region duals this season.

No. 4 Bryce Dagel will be making his Super Region debut at 174.

Dagle comes in as the top-ranked wrestler in the region with two other ranked wrestlers present in No. 8 Lawson Losee of Upper Iowa and No. 15 Drake Hayward of Minnesota State. Dagle has not wrestled either wrestler this season but is 8-0 in region duals.

No. 11 Bryce FitzPatrick eyes his second consecutive NCAA qualification after a third-place finish last season.

The 184-pound class features three other ranked wrestlers in No. 3 Reece Worachek of Wisconsin-Parkside, No. 8 Cade Mueller of Augustana, and No. 9 Colter Bye of Upper Iowa. FitzPatrick was defeated 8-6 against Worachek and 3-0 against Mueller. He has not wrestled Bye this season. FitzPatrick is 5-2 in region duals this season.

No. 1 Dominic Murphy eyes a threepeat at 197 after capturing titles each of the past two seasons.

Two other ranked wrestlers are present at 197 including No. 4 Max Ramberg of Augustana and No. 15 Geoff Freeman of Upper Iowa. Murphy defeated Ramberg 8-4 earlier this season and has not wrested Freeman this year. Murphy is 9-0 in region duals this season.

No. 5 La'Ron Parks will be making his Super Region V debut after previously wrestling in Super Region III. During his time at Notre Dame College, Parks was a three-time NCAA qualifier with three third place finishes at Super Region III.

Parks is the top ranked wrestler in the region and is in a field with five other ranked wrestlers in No. 7 Lloyd Reynolds of Wisconsin-Parkside, No. 8 Jake Swirple of Minot State, No. 9 Luke Tweeton of UMary, No. 13 Nathan Schauer of Northern State, and No. 14 Joshua Gaye of Upper Iowa. Parks lost to Reynolds 2-1 in SV, but defeated Swirple 2-1 and Tweeton 4-1. He has not wrestled Schauer or Gaye this year. Parks is 5-1 in region duals this season.
