LOS ANGELGES – St. Cloud State Men's Hockey incoming freshman Nolan Roed (White Bear Lake, Minn.) was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the seventh round (219th overall) of the 2025 NHL Draft on Saturday in Los Angeles. Roed is the 75th Husky to be selected since the inauguration of the NHL Draft in 1986.

Roed will join the Huskies after two highly successful seasons with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL where he scored 33 goals and 42 assists for 75 points in 86 games. The White Bear Lake, Minn., native led the Storm in scoring with 27 goals while adding 33 assists for 60 points in 61 games while earning 2024-25 All-USHL Third Team honors. A nearly point-per-game player, he was a key piece of Tri-City's special teams, scoring 12 power play goals and a USHL-leading seven shorthanded goals. Roed played three seasons for White Bear Lake where he recorded 153 points (76 goals, 77 assists) in 83 games and served as team captain for the 2023-24 season while leading the Bears to a state tournament appearance.
