No. 16 St. Cloud State Volleyball Sweeps Bemidji State on the Road

Huskies use balanced attack, hit .444 against BSU in straight set victory
BEMIDJI, Minn. – No. 16 St. Cloud State Volleyball (13-5 overall, 7-3 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) took down Bemidji State (13-5, 5-5 NSIC) in straight sets on Friday night at the BSU Gymnasium in Bemidji. The Huskies took the match 25-21, 25-13 and 25-19 and hit .444 which is the ninth best single match mark in program history.

TOP HUSKIES
- Junior setter Braya LaPlant (Grand Rapids, Minn.) – match-high 44 assists and seven digs
- Junior outside hitter/opposite Carlie Willis (Grundy Center, Iowa) – match-high 12 kills on 17 swings (.588 hitting percentage) and five digs
- Junior libero Laurin Hamann (Manitowoc, Wis.) – match-high 14 digs and three assists
- Senior outside hitter Shelby Kimm (North Liberty, Iowa) – 12 digs, nine kills (.389 hitting percentage) and match-high two aces
- SCSU improved to 54-23 all-time against Bemidji State including a 9-1 mark in its last 10 matchups against the Beavers with a four match win streak. The Huskies also improved to 14-9 all-time against the Beavers in Bemidji.
- The Huskies improved to 4-3 in road matches and 11-2 in three set matches.
- St. Cloud State led the match in points (62-45), kills (52-38), aces (7-2), assists (49-38) and digs (43-31). BSU led the match in blocks (5-3).
- The Huskies .444 team hitting percentage was a season high and the ninth best single match mark in program history.
- SCSU's 52 kills were the second most in a three set match this season and its 49 assists were tied for the second most in a three set match.
- LaPlant's 44 assists were tied for the fourth most in any match by a Husky this season and the second most in a three set match. It was her eighth match of 40+ assists this season and she became the 10th player in program history to surpass 2,000 career assists.
- Willis' .588 hitting percentage was a new single match high for the Huskies this season and her 12 kills were tied for the fourth most in a three set match. It was her sixth match with double-digit kills this season.
- Hamann has recorded 14+ digs in 10 of 18 matches this season.
- Kimm recorded double-digit digs for the 10th time this season and joined the program's all-time top 10 list for digs. It was her fourth match of the season with 2+ aces.
- Junior outside hitter Emery Thury (Watertown, S.D.) tied the match lead for kills, with 12, on .444 hitting. Her .444 hitting percentage was the fifth best in a match this season by a Husky and her 12 kills were tied for the fourth most in a three set match. She recorded 10+ kills for the third time this season (all in the last four matches.
- Junior middle blocker Kinsey Mohwinkle (Aplington, Iowa) sent down nine kills (.450 hitting percentage).
- Senior middle blocker Hannah Bruskiewicz (Rogers, Minn.) recorded eight kills (.375 hitting percentage).
