Joel Jesuroga Named NSIC Wrestler of the Week Following Conference Title for Huskies

Jesuroga beat No. 4 Easton Worachek
Burnsville, MN. – St. Cloud State Wrestling redshirt junior Joel Jesuroga was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Wrestler of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. Jesuroga beat No. 4 Easton Worachek 9-1 as the Huskies threepeated as NSIC Champions following a 25-15 win over No. 6 Wisconsin-Parkside.
The Pleasant Hill, IA native held a 2-1 lead headed into the third period after notching an escape and stall point. With 15 seconds left, Jesuroga nabbed the left leg of No. 4 Easton Worachek to secure the takedown and then put him on his back to tally four nearfall points. Jesuroga would stay unbeaten with the 9-1 major decision and added a key bonus point towards the team score in the process.
Jesuroga improved to 17-0 with his seventh major decision and ninth bonus point win. Jesuroga is currently ranked No. 2 at 157 pounds.
He is the fourth Husky to be named NSIC Wrestler of the Week this season joining Dominic Ducato (Nov. 24), Gabriel Smith (Jan. 19), and Zach Glazier (Jan. 26)
Jesuroga and the rest of the No. 13 Huskies will be back in action on Saturday, February 28 as they compete in the Super Region V Championships.
