Huskies Fall 76-56 to Golden Bears in Regular Season Home Finale

CSP tallies 50 points in the paint
St. Cloud, MN. – St. Cloud State Women's Basketball (13-13, 10-11 NSIC) had their five-game win streak snapped Wednesday evening as they were defeated 76-56 to Concordia-St. Paul. The Golden Bears would shoot 54.2% from the field and score 50 points in the paint.
Through the first few minutes, the teams were tied 5-5 after a triple by Reagan Briggs. Breaking the paint on a consistent basis, CSP ended the quarter with a 17-4 run to lead 22-9. The start of the second quarter saw a rejuvenated Huskies as they worked their way back into the game within minutes. A three by Rachel Kottke at the 7:26 mark capped off an 11-2 run as SCSU now only trailed by four. The Golden Bears would push their lead back up to double digits in the next two minutes, but St. Cloud State responded with an 8-0 to bring the deficit down to a single possession and force a CSP timeout. The Golden Bears would ultimately go into halftime leading 36-30 after they made a layup with four seconds left in the half.
The second half carried over the back-and-forth battle from the end of the second as a layup by Abigail O'Reilly set the score at 42-41 with the Huskies trailing by one at the five-minute mark. CSP would start to break away as they ended the quarter on a 17-4 run to lead by 13 going into the fourth. The Golden Bears would lead by 9+ points the rest of the way with a lead as big as 21 points. They would ultimately snap the Huskies five-game win streak with a 76-56 win in the regular season home finale for SCSU.

- Jada Eggebrecht led the Huskies in scoring with 16 points on an efficient 7/11 shooting. She also nabbed two steals. This was her 11th game scoring 16+ points this season.
- Abigail O'Reilly was the only other Husky to score 10+ points as she tallied 10 points (4/6), two rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Her three steals would tie her career-high.
- Rachel Kottke totaled six points, eight rebounds, and two assists. This was her fifth game grabbing 8+ rebounds this season.
