2018-19: Rice averaged 82.1 per round in 2018-19 for the Huskies...hit a season-low with a 77 in the second round at the BSU Invitational.
Before SCSU: A 2018 graduate of Southeast Polk High School in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, where he played for coach Scott Powell. Mitchell was a four-year letter winner in golf. During his four years as a varsity player, he was a 2 year team captain, helped his golf team qualify for the State Tournament, earned 2nd team All-State honors, All-Conference recipient, and district runner-up medalist. Mitchell was also a 4 year letter winner and 2 year team captain in tennis. During high school, Mitchell also received Silver Cord honors for 120 hours of volunteering; Gold Cord honors for National Honors Society, was a Semper Fidelis All-American; an Academic All-State all four years; participated in the Interact Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Activities Leadership Team, Mentors in Violence Prevention and Ski & Snowboard Club.
Personal: The son of Eric and Lori Rice, Mitchell is in the Honors Program with a finance major and marketing minor at SCSU.
