Men's Basketball Locker Room Project

Alumni and Friends,
With the 2014-15 season underway, the Huskies are once again preparing for the demanding competition of top Division II men's basketball. Success at this level requires strong talent combined with purposeful coaching and player grit and resilience. Attracting and retaining top student-athletes is paramount to achieving our goals, and it is with our players' experience and performance in mind that I am writing you.
As you may be aware, we are expanding and renovating our locker room. Halenbeck Hall was built in 1965. Modest renovations were completed in 1980, and in 2001 a new wooden floor, arena seating, scoreboards and sound system were installed. Over time, there have been minor upgrades to the locker room, but we are lagging behind our conference rivals in providing a locker room that meets the needs of our players and program and positions us to successfully attract top recruits.
We began Phase I of the project in August, which includes expanding our current locker room into an adjacent space that will double as a lounge/film room. This enhancement gives our student-athletes a place in which to study or relax between classes with the added benefit of providing an area for team meetings and video scouting. The second phase of the project includes the installation of new lockers featuring some of the more functional and popular amenities desired by today's players. The final touches will include the design and installation of bold graphics and messaging that tie our strong basketball tradition to our current student-athletes.
The NSIC is one of the strongest conferences in the country, and programs across the league are investing in their basketball facilities. The enhancements provided through these upgrades will bring us up to par with other NSIC schools and help us continue to compete for the top talent required for conference championships and regional advancement.
Huskies Basketball has benefitted for years from our loyal fans and committed alumni, and we are thankful for your continued support. Please help us enhance our locker room facility by sending in your gift today. All commitments of $500 or higher will be recognized on a donor plaque located in the locker room.
GO HUSKIES!
