SCSU Sports Chat with Tom Elliott
St. Cloud State University Athletics and the St. Cloud Times are teaming up to offer the SCSU Sports Chat with Mick Hatten on Wednesdays during 2016-17, at Howie's Sports Bar and Grill in downtown St. Cloud, Minn.
The SCSU Sports Chat is an hour-long program that will run from Noon to 1 p.m. at Howie's, which is located at 101 9th Ave. North in St. Cloud, Minn.Â
St. Cloud Times sports reporter Mick Hatten will serve as the program's host and it will feature special guest appearances by St. Cloud State University coaches and student-athletes each week.
Fans will be able to either attend the lunches in person or can follow along and present questions for the guests at www.sctimes.com or at www.scsuhuskies.com. Fans will also have the opportunity to watch replays of the shows on both websites.
"St. Cloud State is excited to partner with the St. Cloud Times and Howie's Sports Bar and Grill to provide our community with inside access to Huskies Athletics," said Heather Weems, Director of Athletics. "This new format allows fans both near and far to conveniently interact with student-athletes and coaches in person or through online live-chat. Join us for lunch every Wednesday in downtown St. Cloud and get ready for the weekend's action."
The first program will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from Noon to 1 p.m. at Howie's.Â
"I'm excited to be working with St. Cloud State and the athletic department on this show," Hatten said. "We did something similar last season for St. Cloud State hockey. We received a number of positive comments about how enjoyable it was to get to know the players and coaches better through my interviews, and with questions from fans at the venue and following along on our website.
"This gives us a chance to get to know more players and coaches from more teams at the university and I'm looking forward to it."
Fans attending the SCSU Sports Chat program will have an opportunity to grab lunch at Howie's, which offers an outstanding selection of food and drink options on its menu.
