2014-15: A member of the 2015 NCHC Frozen Faceoff All-Tournament team...named to 2015 All-NCHC Academic team...led team with 39 points (16g/23a)...posted five power play goals and 16 blocked shots...scored SHG on Nov. 14, 2014 at WMU...scored GWG vs. North Dakota in semi's of NCHC Frozen Faceoff on Mar. 20, 2015...hit career game-high with four assists on Jan. 23 vs. WMU...added nine multi-point games in 2014-15...1g/2a at Colorado College on Jan. 30, 2015...enjoyed seven game point streak from Jan. 23-Feb. 20.
2013-14: Another standout season for Benik in 2013-14...charted 12 goals, 15 assists and 27 points as a sophomore...added five power play goals, 14 blocks and a +6 on the plus/minus...notched seven multi-point games in 2013-14...hit a career game-high with five points (2g/3a) in 7-4 win at Colorado College on March 7, 2014...also had two goals apiece in wins over Bemiji State on Oct. 11, 2013 and Omaha on Jan. 31, 2014...named to 2013-14 All-NCHC Academic Team.
2012-13: Benik was named the MVP of the 2013 NCAA Division I Midwest Regional and selected to the 2013 NCAA Division I All-Midwest Regional team...saw first ice time as a freshman on Dec. 27, 2012 against RPI and scored his first collegiate point with an assist...added first collegiate goal on Feb. 8, 2013 at the HBNHC against Minnesota...finished season with five goals and one assist in NCAA tournament play...scored the game winner for the Huskies in victories over Notre Dame and Miami at NCAA regional...posted three multi-point games in 2012-13...scored two goals and one assist in regional win over Notre Dame and also had one goal and two assists in WCHA playoffs against UAA on March 15, 2013...his playoff totals included six goals and three assists...was +5 on the plus/minus as a rookie.
Before SCSU: A 2010 graduate of St. Francis High School, Benik earned All-Conference status in hockey and golf as a high school athlete...played for coach Tony Hoops in high school...at St. Francis, Benik set a MSHSL state record by scoring 65 goals in a season in 2008-09...he also posted 37 assists that year for a total of 102 points...as a senior at St. Francis, Benik had 54 goals and 90 points...played two seasons of junior hockey with the Penticton Vees of the BCHL under the direction of former Husky assistant coach Fred Harbinson...helped Penticton win Canadian Junior A national title in 2012...led Penticton in scoring during 2011-12 season with 38 goals and 76 assists overall...also posted 33 goals and 30 assists for Penticton during the 2010-11 campaign.
