2013-14: Bertsch was selected to the 2014 NCHC All-Academic team...played in 36 games as a junior...charted three goals and three assists, which included a game winner against Minnesota Duluth on Dec. 7, 2013 and an empty net goal at Omaha on Jan. 31, 2014...posted two assists at Omaha on Feb. 1, 2014...scored goal in NCAA tournament win over Notre Dame on Mar. 29, 2014...carded 25 blocks during his junior season.

2012-13: Bertsch was named to the 2013 All-WCHA Academic team and also selected as a WCHA Scholar-Athlete...received the NCAA Elite 89 Award at the 2013 NCAA Division I Frozen Four (top student-athlete at NCAA Division I men's hockey championships)...scored two goals and seven assists in 2012-13...played in 37 games as a sophomore...scored goals against UAH (Oct. 19, 2012) and Bemidji State (Feb. 1, 2013) in 2012-13...received SCSU's Brendan J and Vernie McDonald President's Award (Outstanding Student-Athlete) in 2013.

2011-12: Bertsch saw playing time in 30 games during his rookie season at St. Cloud State...he charted five goals and four assists for the Huskies in 2011-12...was +5...scored first collegiate goal at Minnesota State on Nov. 11, 2011...added first collegiate assist and first point at the NHC on Dec. 3 vs. Bemidji State...scored first goal at the NHEC on Dec. 17 against Denver.

Prior to SCSU: A 2008 graduate of Wahlert Catholic H.S...played junior hockey with Dubuque of the USHL during the 2010-11 season...charted seven goals and 10 assists at Dubuque in 2010-11...played two seasons with the St. Louis Bandits of the NAHL from 2008 to 2010...posted 18 goals and 29 assists in two season at St. Louis...at Wahlert, Bertsch earned four letters in tennis and was a two-time doubles state champion...helped Dubuque win USHL Clark Cup in 2011 and St. Louis win NAHL Robertson Cup in 2009...as a high school tennis player, Bertsch won Iowa state doubles championships in 2006 and 2008.
