Mike Lee returns to St. Cloud State as the Huskies' volunteer goaltender coach in 2016-17. Lee played for the Huskies from 2009 to 2012 and charted a sterling 2.65 goals against average and a .917 save rate during his college career. He played in 74 games and logged 4320:25 minutes of time in the nets while making 2,109 saves for the Huskies. He ended his career with a 32-29-9 record.
Lee was selected as a WCHA Player of the Week multiple times during his career and he was named to the All-WCHA Academic team in 2012 and 2011. Lee also received the WCHA's prestigious Scholar-Athlete award in 2011 and 2012.
A native or Roseau, Minn., Lee was selected to the USA National Junior Team in 2010 and was picked in the third round of the 2009 NHL draft by Phoenix. He was named the USHL Goalie of the Year and the USA Hockey Dave Peterson Goalie of the Year in 2009 during his tenure with the Fargo Force off the USHL.
After his time at SCSU, Lee played professional hockey in the Phoenix Coyotes organization with stops at Gwinnett (ECHL) and Portland (AHL) from 2012 to 2015.
