2020-21: In his first season with the Huskies, Cockrell appeared in 30 games, primarily as a member of the team's fourth line. He tallied seven total points thanks to three goals and four assists with 48 shots on goal. He scored his first goal in a St. Cloud State uniform in a 5-3 win over Omaha on December 6 and also scored in games against Miami and Western Michigan. Cockrell closed the regular season with a +/- of +7 and eight blocked shots.

Before SCSU: Prior to joining St. Cloud State, Cockrell was a member of the Colgate men's hockey team, where he played from 2016-20...a two-time assistant captain at Colgate, where he scored seven goals and 10 assists in 2019-20...finished his career at Colgate with 23 goals, 29 assists and 52 points...named an ECAC Rookie of the Week at Colgate...a redshirt athlete at Colgate in 2018-19..played junior hockey with the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL from 2014-16, where he scored 61 goals and 62 assists during his junior career...a multi-sport athlete in high school, scored 48 goals and 73 assists during his prep career at Kents Hill Academy, where he played for coach Larry Cockrell...team MVP for high school hockey team...also lettered in high school in lacrosse, tennis, mountain biking and soccer.

Personal: The son of Larry and Tiffany Cockrell...an MBA student at SCSU...enjoys biking, golf, tennis and pickleball...has skills as a Zamboni driver.
