2012-13: Named to 2013 All-WCHA Academic team and WCHA Scholar-Athlete list...Dowd tied a team record in 2012-13 with five game winners...ranked among team leaders with 47 blocked shots...had four power play goals and one empty netter in 2012-13...+6 on the plus/minus...enjoyed 12 multi-point games in 2012-13...had two goals and one helper in 5-1 win at UMD on Nov. 24, 2012...also posted two goals in a 3-0 win at Denver on Nov. 2, 2012...Dowd opened 2012-13 by scoring 17 points (8 goals) in first 12 games of the season... stepped into media spotlight as one of six SCSU players to grow their hair out during 2012-13 for Locks of Love program...will serve as a team captain in 2013-14.
2011-12: 2012 Academic All-WCHA and 2012 WCHA Scholar-Athlete...Dowd played in 39 games for the Huskies during the 2011-12 campaign...ranked seventh on team with 24 points (11g/13a)...enjoyed four multi-point games as a sophomore, including a 1g/2a effort in an 8-3 win over UAA on Feb. 18, 2012...also had 1g/1a in a 5-1 victory at Wisconsin on Feb. 3, 2012 and a 7-2 win over the Badgers at the NHC on Nov. 5, 2011...was +2 on the season...scored first SHG of his career on Nov. 4, 2011 vs. UW...also had two power play goals for the Huskies in 2011-12...carded 39 blocked shots...named team's Most Determined Player in 2011-12.
2010-11: Played in 36 games for SCSU in his first season with the team... recorded 18 points on five goals and 13 assists... tallied two assists in four different games... had a three-point night on Dec. 30 vs Miami, including the game winner in a 4-3 SCSU victory... added another game-winning goal on Jan. 21 at Bemidji State in a 2-1 victory... took home WCHA Rookie of the Week honors in two consecutive weeks (Jan. 5 and Jan. 11)...named MVP of the 2010 Florida College Hockey Classic.
Prior to SCSU: Prior to SCSU: A 2008 graduate of Culver Military Academy...lettered in hockey and baseball during his prep tenure at Culver Academy, which is the same school that SCSU’s Matt Chapman and Sam Zabkowicz attended...played junior hockey with Indiana of the USHL in 2009-10, and scored 18g/27 for the Ice...played at Wenatchee in the NAHL during the 2008-09 season...a 2009 draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings (7th round/198th pick).
Personal: Born May, 27, 1990...son of Alan and Liz Dowd of Huntsville, Alabama...enjoys skiing and the lake...pre-vet major at SCSU.
