2011-12: A standout All-American Honorable Mention in his first season with the Huskies…swam a B-Cut time of :20.91 in the 50 free to make it to nationals…won the 50 free event on Nov. 5, 2011 and Jan. 14, 2012…helped his 200 and 400 freestyle team set school records in both events.
HIGH SCHOOL: An eight-time All-State and Minnesota State Championship Meet medalist. He was the Section champion four times at Bemidji High School and holds the school record in the 50 free, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. A Minnesota Swimmer of the Year nominee, Hoven is a three-time Junior National Qualifier, a Long Course State Champion and Midwest Zone Champion. Voted the Student of the Week at BHS.
PERSONAL: A native of Bemidji, Minn…the son of Mike and Kierstin Hoven…was coached by Scott Leindecker…enjoys hunting, fishing and water skiing in his free time.
