Bio
2012: Played in 26 matches in her first season with the Huskies, starting 19 of those matches…recorded 209 kills and led the team in kills/set with a 2.38 average…finished with 23 blocks and 102 digs on the season…returned 192 of 213 serves (.901%)…season high 15 kills at U-Mary (10/6/12)…double digit kill totals in ten matches…posted three double-doubles on the season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Rachel is a four-time volleyball letter winner at Verona Area High School and a four-time All-Conference performer. She was named First Team All-Conference as a senior after second team honors as a junior and being named Honorable Mention her first two seasons. As a middle blocker during the 2011 season, her stat line read 164 kills, .469 attack percentage and 26 blocks. Her team beat rival Middleton High School to win the section and advance to the 2011 state tournament. Burke’s high school volleyball coach is Kelly Annen. Burke also earned a letter in track and field. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is a high honor roll student.
PERSONAL: Her parents are Tom and Connie Burke of Madison, Wis. She is undecided in her major at SCSU.
