St. Cloud State University has announced that former Husky All-American and NHL standout Mark Parrish will join play-by-play announcer Jim Rich for the Husky Productions' telecasts of home St. Cloud State men's hockey games in 2012-13.
Husky Productions has been producing telecasts of home hockey games at St. Cloud State University since the 1990s, and this year the duo of Parrish and Rich will be assisted behind the scenes by Executive Producer Brian Stanley, Student Producer Matt Szymanski and Production Manager/Chief Engineer Derrick Silvestri.
All 20 regular season home games at the National Hockey and Event Center in 2012-13 will be televised live by Husky Productions. The telecasts will be available live on Charter Cable Channel 87 in the St. Cloud area this season. Fans can also watch the game replays each week on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on UTVS (Charter Channel 21 in St. Cloud).
The Huskies will continue their home season on Oct. 26-27 with a pair of home games at the NHEC against Minnesota State University.

"Being asked to provide commentary for my alma mater is a real thrill,” Parrish said. “I look forward to watching SCSU men's hockey this year and hopefully some NHL stars of tomorrow. I'm incredibly excited to join Jim in the announcers' booth and work with Husky Productions."
This will mark Rich's second year in the booth as the Huskies' play-by-play voice, while Parrish is scheduled to provide his insight and color commentary during home games this year.
“It's a great honor to be calling Husky Hockey games once again this season,” said Rich, who also works as a sports media personality in the Twin Cities with Fox 9. “Coach Bob Motzko's team was a compelling story to watch unfold as they dealt with injuries but continued to improve week in and week out peaking just at the right time to make it to the WCHA Final Five.
“The students at Husky Productions were outstanding to work with as they put in long hours to make the game broadcasts great television for all the St. Cloud State fans who couldn't make it to the rink. It is amazing to me how many people I meet in the industry that got their start with Husky Productions, but after working with them (Husky Productions), I can see why.”
The duo of Rich and Parrish will work with the Husky Productions staff, which incorporates St. Cloud University mass communication students into the telecast's production, on-air and administrative positions.

“It was a great last season with Jim Rich on the broadcast, and to add Mark Parrish to the crew has opened up many new possibilities for St. Cloud State University,” Szymanski said, who is a student at SCSU and resident of nearby Sauk Rapids.
“It was exciting watching Mark Parrish play at St. Cloud as a kid, and being able to work with him now is an amazing. As the student producer of Husky Production's, I look forward to the quality that Mark Parrish and Jim Rich will bring to our production. “
Parrish earned All-America notice during his college career at St. Cloud State from 1995 to 1997. He scored 42 goals and 32 assists in his two seasons with the Huskies before moving up to the professional ranks.
As an NHL player, Parrish played for Florida (1998-00), New York Islanders (2000-06), Los Angeles (2005-06), Minnesota (2006-08), Dallas (2008-09), Tampa Bay (2009-10) and Buffalo (2011). In 749 NHL games during his career, Parrish posted 221 goals and 175 assists.
