Men's Basketball to Play Two Games in Lakeland, Florida, Nov. 23-24

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team will head south to Lakeland, Florida for a pair of games in the FSCLedger Media Group/Terrace Hotel Classic hosted by Florida Southern College.

The Huskies will play Florida Southern on Friday, Nov. 23 at 6:30 p.m. (CT). On Saturday, the Huskies will tip-off against St. Joseph's College (Rensselaer, Ind.) at 4:15 p.m.

Husky Hits

The Huskies will be playing both Florida Southern and Saint Joseph's for the second time in school history. SCSU is 0-1 against Florida Southern, losing to the Mocs 71-61 in the 1986-87 season. In 1963-64 the Huskies posted a 99-66 win over the Saint Joseph's Pumas.
St. Cloud State is ranked #19 in the 2012-13 Basketball Times NCAA Division II Preseason poll and is receiving votes in the NABC/Division II Coaches Pre-Season poll. Florida Southern also received votes in the NABC poll and is ranked #15 in the 2012 DII Bulletin Preseason Top 25.
St. Cloud State is picked to finish fourth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) overall standings and second in the NSIC North, The Huskies received 174 points in the overall poll and 43 points in the North Division poll. Winona State University is the coaches preseason overall favorite and South Division favorite while MSU Moorhead is favored in the North Division.
Florida Southern is a member os the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) while Saint Joseph's competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). The last SSC opponent to play the Huskies was Rollins College on Dec. 5, 1992 in a 72-65 SCSU loss. The last time the Huskies played a school from the GLVC was Nov. 17, 2006 against Rockhurst, a 77-67 SCSU win.
