Men's Basketball Improves to 7-0 with 73-54 Win at Northern State

Aberdeen, S.D. – St. Cloud State University sophomore guard Kevin Levandoski (Appleton, Wis.) scored a career high 19 points and helped the 11th-ranked Huskies to a 73-54 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) win at Northern State University Friday night.
The win improved the Huskies record to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the NSIC. Northern State dropped to 7-3 and suffered the Wolves first NSIC loss dropping to 3-1. The Huskies play at MSU Moorhead Saturday with the tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m.
Levandoski was one of five Husky players to score in double figures. He made seven of 12 field goal attempts including three of four from beyond the arc. He also notched a career high seven rebounds.
The Huskies made 12 three point baskets as Levandoski, junior guard Damarius Cruz (Robbinsdale) and senior guard Shaun Jensen each made three treys.
Cruz finished the game with 15 points and Jensen had ten points. Sophomore forward Connor Niehaus (Fremont, Neb.) scored a season high 13 points and had a game high eight rebounds.
Senior forward Theo Rothstein (St. Michael) has scored in double figures in each of the Huskies games this season and finished the night with 14 points and four steals.
St. Cloud State shot 43.4 percent from the field and 52.2 percent from three-point range.
Northern State was led by Dustin Tetzlaff with 12 points and six rebounds. Michael Emge scored 11 points and made three three-point baskets. The Wolves held a 39-36 rebounding edge.
