SCSU Soccer Falls in Overtime Against Winona State, 2-1

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University women's soccer team hosted Winona State Saturday at Husky Stadium as they fell in double overtime by a final score of 2-1.
The first half ended with a scoreless game as the Warriors were outshooting the Huskies by a 7-1 margin. St. Cloud held a strong defense holding Winona to only two shots on goal in the half.
Winona State was able to come out in the second half taking a 1-0 lead at the 49:25 mark over the Huskies as Taylor Zehren scored unassisted.
Later in the game the Huskies came back to tie the game up 1-1 as senior Kara Dahmen set-up to shoot a corner kick at the 60:35 mark and ended up curving it right into the top of the net for the goal.
The Huskies held on sending the game into double overtime but the Warriors were quick to score in the second overtime at the 100:34 mark for the 2-1 victory.
Brittany Plombon was in the net recording 12 saves for the Huskies, while the Warriors' Alexandra Vial tallied two saves.
St. Cloud State (3-2-0, 0-2-0 NSIC) will be back in action Sunday, September 22 as they host Upper Iowa University. Game time is set for 1 p.m. from Husky Stadium.
