Jack Pexa Ties for Second, Huskies Claim Fourth Place at SCSU Husky Classic

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University men's golf team improved their team score by four strokes in day two action of the SCSU Husky Classic to take fourth place in the 12 team invite with a team score of 307-303-610.
Results
First year golfer Jack Pexa (New Prague) captured his third second place finish of the fall, significant in that the Huskies have played in three tournaments. In the SCSU Husky Classic he shot a one under par 71 in the first round and followed that with a 75 in the second round to finish at two over par 146 for the tournament.
Senior Devin Holmes (Ramsey) also had a top ten finish as he tied for ninth place after rounds of 75-74-149 on the par 72, 6,676 yard course. In Sunday's first round, Holmes aced the 135-yard par 3 sixth hole with a nine iron. The hole-in-one was the fourth of his golf career.
Bemidji State University, led by medalist Andrew Benson won the team title. The Beavers shot a team score of 291-301 for a 592. Benson won the Classic with rounds of 73-72 for a one over par total 145.
Up next for the Huskies is the 2013 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Fall Championship, Sept. 29-Oct. 1. The championship will be played at The Classic in Brainerd.
