Men's golf places 7th in Washburn Invitational

Topeka, Kan. -- The St. Cloud State men's golf team opened the spring season with a seventh place finish in the Washburn/Topeka Capitol Plaza Hotel Invitational played at the Topeka Country Club Monday and Tuesday.
St. Cloud State posted a team score of 919 (308-305-306) in the 54-hole, 15-team tournament.
Central Oklahoma won the tournament with a team score of 875. Greg MacAulay of Lindenwood University was the individual medalist after posting scores of 72-71-65 for a 208 on the par 71, 6,647 yard course.
The Huskies Devin Holmes tied for 11th place after firing rounds of 75-71-74 for a 220.
Other individual scores that figured into the team total for the Huskies included a tie for 45th place by Matt Bible who shot rounds of 75-80-78 for a 233. Charlie West shot 76-82-78 for a 236 and Drew Massey shot 82-74-80 for a 236 and tied for 56th place. Tyler Koivisto shot a tournament total 82-80-76 for a 238 and tied for 63rd place.
Two Huskies, playing individually also placed in the tournament. Chase Hahne tied for 51st place with a score of 79-76-80 for a 235. Billy Barnhart finished the tourney with 84-84-87 for a 255.
