THE STREAK: Junior forward Joey Benik continued to impress in 2014-15 with a goal and an assist in play against UMD. Benik owns an active four-game point streak headed into the Huskies' games at WMU on Nov. 14-15. On the season, Benik ranks second on the team with four goals and six points.
LEADERS OF THE PACK:  On the topic of team leaders, Jonny Brodzinski continues to pace SCSU with five goals and eight points in 2014-15. Both Brodzinski and Benik lead the club with six power play goals in 2014-15.
ADVANTAGE ST. CLOUD:  The Huskies have only missed one game this season where they did not score on the power play, which was a 5-1 loss at Union on Oct. 24. In SCSU's last five outings, the Huskies have combined for eight power play goals. In fact, all of SCSU's goals scored in the weekend series against UMD were on the power play... In the Division I rankings, the Huskies currently rank fifth in the nation with an impressive power play rate of 26.3% (10-of-38). Both Jonny Brodzinski and Joey Benik rank fifth in the country with three power play goals apiece this winter
ASSIST NUMBER ONE:Â Finnish rookie blueliner Mika Ilvonen charted his first career point on Nov. 8 with the first assist on Joey Benik's goal against UMD.
RUGGED SCHEDULE:  This weekend will mark the first time in 2014-15 that the Huskies will play a team not ranked among the nation's top 20 teams. The Huskies' schedule to date has included #6 Colgate, #12 Union, #1 Minnesota and #13 Minnesota Duluth.
