Men's squad wins dual, women place second in swimming and diving duals

Marquette, Mich. – The 16th-ranked St. Cloud State men's swimming and diving team defeated #7 Grand Valley State University, 154-146, in dual action Saturday in Marquette Michigan.
The St. Cloud State women, ranked 20th in the CSCAA Division National rankings this week fell to #14 Northern Michigan, 186-114 and lost to #9 Grand Valley State, 174-126.
Results
The men's team won seven events in the dual led by senior Alex Bryson. Bryson continues to swim well as he was a double winner, swimming the 1000 yard free in 9:46.97 for first place and came back to win the 500 free in 4:46.49.
On the women's side Emily Tiedemann won the 100 back in 1:00.04 to lead the Huskies. She finished second in the 200 back in 2:10.29.
Other highlights
Justin Winnett and Dylan Schanz went one-two in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Winnett won the 100 breast in 58.88 while Schanz was second in 1:00.26. Schanz won the 200 breaststroke in 2:09.50 and Winnett was second in 2:09.82.
Jake Stoll won the 50 free in 21.58
The Huskies swept the three-meter diving competition. Tyler Magalis was first with a score of 318.25. Aaron Rooney placed second with a score of 285.05 and David Sufficool was third posting a score of 282. Magalis placed second on the one-meter board with a score of 328.20.
The men's 400 medley relay of Jack Spaeth, Winnett, Conner Hickey and Stoll won in a time of 3:28.40.
The men also won the 400 free relay in 3:07.13. Chris Tung, Jordan Kinney, Hickey and Stoll swam the relay.
For the women, Abby Rasmussen and Kellyn Craig finished second and third in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Rasmussen was second in the 100 breast in 1:06.25 while Craig was third in a time of 1:06.76. Craig placed second in the 200 breast in 2L22.23 and Rasmussen was third in 2:27.89.
In the 200 free, Andrea Bryson finished second in 1:56.67 and Julie Schmitt was third in 1:56.84.
Both the men's and women's teams will host the University of South Dakota in dual competition this Friday, Nov. 21. The competition gets underway at 3 p.m. in Halenbeck Pool.
