#16 St. Cloud State falls 4-1 at Bemidji State

Bemidji, Minn. - The #16 St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (6-7-1) lost a tough 4-1 decision at Bemidji State University (4-10-0) on Saturday, Nov. 29 in Bemidji, Minn.
In the first period, St. Cloud State charged to a 1-0 lead with an even strength goal by Joey Benik at 17:16. He was assisted on the play by linemate Jonny Brodzinski. The goal was Benik's eighth goal of the season, while Brodzinski now has five assists in 2014-15.
Bemidji State evened the tally at 1-1 with a goal by Rusian Pedan at 3:11 of the second period. Kyle Bauman and Nate Arentz each had assists on the goal by BSU.
In the third period, BSU gained a 2-1 lead with a goal at 8:13 by Gerry Fitzgerald. He was assisted on the play by his brothers Leo Fitzgerald and Myles Fitzgerald. The Beavers stretched their lead to 3-1 with a marker by Charlie O'Connor at 8:50 of the 3rd period. He was assisted on the play by Sam Rendle and Kyle Bauman.
To cap the night, BSU charted an empty net goal at 19:38 by Phillip Brewer, which was assisted by Rendle and Arentz.
In the game, SCSU outshot Bemdiji State 35-25. Both teams went scoreless on the advantage as the Huskies were 0-4 and BSU was 0-1.
In his first start of the season, Rasmus Reijola made 21 saves in the game for the Huskies while Andrew Walsh posted 34 saves in the victory for BSU.
The Huskies will enjoy a bye week next weekend before heading to Omaha on Dec. 12-13 for a pair of NCHC games.
