Men's basketball shakes off rust in 86-47 non-conference win over Iowa Wesleyan

St. Cloud, Minn.—The St. Cloud State men's basketball team led from start to finish in its 86-47 non-conference win over Iowa Wesleyan College Tuesday night at Halenbeck Hall.
The Huskies record improved to 7-5 overall with the win. The Tigers dropped to 4-5 overall.
Junior guard Eddie Alcantara (New York, N.Y.) tallied a double double with 15 points and ten rebounds, both career highs, to lead the Huskies. He went six of six from the field, made his only three-point attempt and was two of three at the free throw line.
"It was nice to shake off the rust," said head coach Matt Reimer. "I thought we executed ok, especially after being off for ten days and having only one practice to prepare for the game. I was disappointed in our free throw shooting. It should have been better and that's a mental aspect we have to work on."
Sophomore guard Scottie Stone (Melrose, Minn.) also scored 15 points for the Huskies who will open the new year on the road at Minnesota State University, Mankato this Friday.
