St. Cloud State Men's Hockey falls 3-1 at Denver

The St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (9-11-1, 4-6-1 NCHC) lost a 3-1 NCHC match-up at #13 Denver (12-7-1, 5-5-0 NCHC) on Friday, Jan. 16 in Denver, Colo.
The Huskies opened the contest in the first with the game's first goal as Joe Rehkamp connected on his third marker of the season at 18:24. Â Assists on the play were credited to Tim Daly and Nathan Widman. Â This marked the third consecutive game that Rehkamp has charted a goal for the Huskies.
The goal proved to be SCSU's lone tally of the evening as Denver rallied with two second period goals to take a 2-1 lead. Â Gabe Levin broke the shutout at 2:45 of the second period with helpers from Zac Larraza and Joey LaLeggia.
LaLeggia added the game winner at 4:59 of the second period with a power play goal that was set up with assists from Quentin Shore and Danton Heinen. Â The Pioneers capped the game's scoring in the third period with a goal by Daniel Doreumus at 4:05. Â Assists on the goal were added by Trevor Moore and Nolan Zajac.
In the game, DU outshot the Huskies 35-27 as goalie Charlie Lindgren had 32 saves in the net for SCSU. Â Evan Cowley opened the game for DU in the nets and made 10 saves and allowed one goal. Â Tanner Jaillet earned the win with 16 saves for the Pios.
On the power play, SCSU was 0-1 and Denver was 1-3. Â
