The St. Cloud State University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will open their 2017-18 seasons on Oct. 6-7 at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
SCSU and UWGB will compete on both Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6 and Oct. 7 in two separately-scored 13-event dual meets. Friday's dual will begin at 5:00 p.m., while Saturday's meet will start at 11:00 a.m.

This meet marks the first competition for the Huskies since they competed at the 2017 NCAA Division II swim and dive championships in Birmingham, Ala. Â The SCSU women's team charted a solid 9-2 record in 2016-17. Â The SCSUÂ women's team also earned their third consecutive NSIC championship last winter under the direction of head coach Jeff Hegle, who begins his 17th season on the deck in 2017-18.
SCSU has won the NSIC women's title in 2017, 2014 and 2013.  The Huskies will return NSIC Diver of the Year Britin Thomsen along with freestyle ace Andrea Bryson, who won the NSIC titles in the 200 and 500 free events in 2017.  Both Thomsen and Bryson qualified for the NCAA championships along with fellow returners Lonie Anderson (diving) Ashley Wilson (Breaststroke, IM and relays) and Chelsea Gehrke (relays).  Team captains for this season include Lindsey Lewis, Bryson, Brooke Calvin, Annie Hart and Anderson.
The SCSUÂ men's team placed fourth at the NSISC Championships in Cleveland, Miss. last year and posted a 3-5 dual meet record in 2017-18. Â Scott Stellick is back this winter after qualifying for the NCAA championships in both the 1 and 3 meter events last year. Â Team captains for this season include Rob Leigh, Ike Erickson, Bryce Smith, Brian Burke and Triston Ferguson.
